Description
A medium-sized green shrimp with darker green freckles in transverse bands. White bands on segments 1 and 4. The rostrum is strikingly bright green and makes a useful identification feature
Carapace Light green marked with complex freckles in dark green. The side of the carapace has indistinct brown-green patches but is plain.
The Abdomen: green with darker green freckles in transverse. bands. White bands on segments 1 and 4. Viewed from the side the abdomen is green with a mid-body white line running irregularly through all segments.
The rostrum is strikingly bright green and makes a useful identification feature. Eye white with a black centre.
The antennae are green.
The pincers are marbled green with pale pollex and dactyl.
The walking legs are grey-green with pale joints.
The chelate second legs are grey-green with pale joints.
The tail fan scutes are pale green with dark green margins.

Similar Shrimps
The Pale Marbled Shrimp is found in similarly shallow water but is grey-green with transverse darker markings rather than freckles. It has a grey-green rostrum. It is more often found in shallow, silty habitats.

NATURAL HISTORY
Usually associated with gobies of the genus Ctenogobiops, small species that are commonly found in the shallowest part of the reef.
